The election is over. The campaign cannot end. What do we say on the Morning After?
THE MORNING AFTER - A Symposium - November 13-14, 2004.
Overview - Agenda
A day-and-a-half of conversations, panels, working groups and more. Hosted by Cosmopolity at The Tank - 432 W 42nd St NYC.
Why?
The 2004 election saw an explosion of grassroots activity, online
organizing, voter registration initiatives, new forms of media and
progressive unity. We fell short on November 2, but the movement, the
organizations, their members and our progressive energy are as important as
ever.
Where do we focus next? How do we cultivate this energy into something more? What do we need to turn this movement into a decisive force?
Who?
Join grassroots organizers, representatives of national networks, on-line
activists, new media pundits, and rising figures in the progressive movement
for a discussion of how liberal energy can remain focused and effective
following the 2004 race.
Participants will include leaders, organizers and activists from across America, from a range of industries and backgrounds and from a host of organizations including ActBlue, BOP News, CivicSpace, Drinking Liberally, ACT & Democracy for America.
When?
The Morning After will be held Saturday, November 13 9am-6pm & Sunday,
November 14 10am-2pm.
On Saturday evening, the symposium will be followed by dinner and a party, The ReConvention.
How?
The Morning After Symposium is free to participants, including breakfast,
lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.
To attend, please RSVP to Justin Krebs at justin@cosmopolity.org. Please indicate whether you will attend one or both days. While there is no cost, we do ask you respect your RSVP as our arrangements will depend on the number of attendees.
The Morning After is a project of Cosmopolity, an organization dedicated to providing easy entrance into progressive involvement, using social interaction to promote political action and facilitating collaboration among progressive organizations.
Cosmopolity - which the Village Voice called, "The most thorough and coherent site dedicated to anti-Bush progressivism" - hosted a week of activities during the Republican Convention at The Tank, including the Progressive Tourist Bureau and the NYC Blogger Alley, as featured in the New York Times Magazine.
